Late baroque carving bed

Rococo bed is decorated with intricate wood carving of the late baroque period furniture. The bed frame is handcrafted of Indonesian mahogany solid wood. It has a 145 cm height headboard embellished with rococo carving, scrolls, and foliage fretwork and low footboard. Flower carving decoration side rails holding wooden slats for mattress support.

The rococo bed features a unique character of the baroque period transformation to rococo period. The bed has the baroque sturdiness accented with the organic motif of the rococo period furniture. The transformation also is shown on the wood carving patterns of rococo period natural forms of in the symmetrical design of the baroque period furniture design.

Baroque period furniture features sturdy design accented with elaborate ornamentation or even exaggerated detail and carving decoration. Whereas the rococo period furniture reduced the weight and grounded trait of the baroque period furniture design. Rococo period furniture uses thinner parts with S-like curves and lighter colors to create elegant pieces.

Our rococo bed frame features sturdy and large four legs of the baroque bed, accented with an elaborate carving of flower and foliage of the rococo decoration on the headboard and footboard. The bed has anything to become a perfect selection to furnish girls or women bedroom.

Mahogany wood

The rococo bed is made of mahogany wood harvested from sustainable forest, the Perhutani production forest in Java. The timber is seasoned and kiln dried into 12% moisture contents to ensure the bed will not cracking or warping against the seasons.

Our builder handcrafted the bed frame using traditional furniture construction and joinery, equipped with modern hardware and fixtures. The headboard and footboard is made of solid wood planks that glued each others using loose tongue joint and polyurethane adhesive.

Wood carving

The headboard of rococo bed features a beautiful wood frame decorated with a pierced carving of foliage sticking on the outside of the frame. Solid wood panel inside the frame has a more intricate wood carving of rococo whimsical carving pattern and molding decoration of curves and scrolls on the front side.

The headboard backside comes in a flat surface with dull edges of the carving perforations.

Rococo bed employs four sturdy legs decorated with scroll top and flower carving knee ended with scrolling foot on the floor. The footboard has plenty of curves on the top and bottom side, accented with a pierced carving of flower and foliage.

The headboard and footboard connected to the side rails using steel rails fastener to easing bed assembly process.

Finishing

We sand down the wood with multiple grits of sandpaper to remove flaws such as scratch and dents caused by mills and woodworking tools. Starting with #180 sandpaper grit and ended with #360 sandpaper. Three times sanding sealer spray and hand sanding in between, the bed frame is ready for the staining process. There are many finishing colors in our finishes page to select for the rococo bed, natural wood color, paint, powder coating, and leaf gilt.

The rococo bed above is finished with gold powder coating to provide luxurious furniture pieces. We apply clear coating spray using polyurethane to protect the color and wood surface.

Silver powder is used to stain the rococo bed above, it coated with nitrocellulose lacquer to protect the powder and the wood.

The most popular finishing method and color we apply to the rococo bed is antique white paint, the glazed surface creates a clean impression with classical nuance.
