Our teak timber comes from the Tectona grandis tree, which is harvested from Teak plantation in Java island, Indonesia. Teak is known for its exceptional durability and longevity. It has a relatively low shrinkage rate, less likely to warp, crack, or split. Finishes
Treatment : Fine sanding
We apply multiple sanding treatments to furniture wood surface. Starting from 180-200 grit to remove visible roughness or imperfections of the wood surface, and progressively apply finer grits until the wood has a beautifully smooth surface
Color : Dark candy woodstain
We apply a sanding sealer to our furniture before painting or staining the wood surface. The purpose is to fill and seal the pores of the wood, creating a smoother and more even surface, allowing for a smoother final finish, and prevent moisture absorption.
Clear coat : Satin
Also called egg-shel this type of clear coat provides a silky smooth finish retains its pearl-like sheen when dry, reflects more light than matte and stands up well to washing

Teak and rattan
The Raffles dining armchair is handcrafted out of teak wood into one of the most popular British colonial furniture design in Indonesia. The chair features rattan seat and human back contoured backrest continued down to curved backward legs.
Concave backrest rails, the bottom rails crossing with a flower carving on the intersection attach the back stiles left to right side. The chair arm rests attached to the backrest stiles slide down to the front legs decorated with reeds.
The seat hand woven with diagonal pattern rattan wicker directly to reeds decorated seat rails.
Fluted and reeds decoration front legs ended with arrow foot and plain curved back legs stand on the floor to support the seat and backrest.

Kiln dried
The teak wood is kiln dried into 12% moisture contents (inside the kiln dry facility), may increase into 15 - 18% moisture contents while we working on it.
