Synthetic wicker or resin wicker is a man-made fiber that is much more sturdy and durable than natural rattan. HDPE, or high-density polyethylene, is the best quality material for synthetic wicker.
Polyethylene is an eco-friendly synthetic resin that is safe for the environment. The fiber is infused with UV inhibitors that prevent fading when it exposed to the sun for a long time. Polyethylene is highly durable, low-maintenance, and is made to withstand the elements. It is resistant to cracking, scratching, and fading.
The Lafuma bench is professionally hand-woven, a row at a time. This is because it is difficult to adjust PE strands and keep them straight when working with a large number of rows. The bench features parallel rows and evenly spaced wicker weave.
The bench features a simple and lightweight appearance, round tube / cylindrical shape aluminum frame welded to ensure durability. The bench is fully woven, the aluminum frame is concealed by the synthetic wicker.
